I get up at seven, yeah
And I go to work at nine
I got no time for livin’
Yes, I’m workin’ all the time

It seems to me
I could live my life
A lot better than I think I am
I guess that’s why they call me
They call me the workin’ man…

Rush – Workin’ Man

Many of us have day jobs while we pursue (in our “spare” time) dreams of artistic glory as photographers.  I was roaming DTLA pursuing mine, when I saw this gentleman.
I immediately thought of the lines in Rush’ song “Workin’ Man”- “…I got no time for livin’, Yes, I’m workin’ all the time.”  Shoulders hunched over, this workin’ man looks tired and worn down as he drags a briefcase to presumably the next appointment.  At the end of a long, hard work week, this photo is oddly inspirational to me.  Not so much because of the subject in the image, but more so because it’s the output of what I do outside of my “day” job…livin’ the dream.
